Over that past several months we have been watching the slow death of European Socialism due to the hemorrhage of red ink which massively inefficient social programs have caused. The countries that are bleeding the most red ink are Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain or the P.I.G.S. of Europe as they are known in financial circles. (more)

The P.I.G.S. presently owe $3.8 trillion, or 163 percent of their combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Our USA national debt is currently $12.9 and rising rapidly, or 94 percent that of our GDP!

Perilous Times

We are at this point in the history of this United States of America, in Perilous Times.  But be were born for just such a time as this.  In order to survive our current threats, we must know how to focus and who to focus on, then act!

A famous and powerful speech that stirred a nation by Patrick Henry, rewritten for today.

The question before this House is one of an awful moment for this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery under socialism.  It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country.  Should we keep back our opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, then we should consider ourselves as guilty of treason towards our country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly presidents, kings and czars.

We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts.  Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty?  Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation?  For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I know of no way of judging the future but by the past.  And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of our leadership of this country that for the last many years that our leadership has given us no hopes with which we have been pleased to solace ourselves.  Is it for the insidious smiles from the president and leaders of the house and senate with which our petition has been lately received?  Trust it not, for it will prove a snare to your feet.  Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how the ungracious reception of our petitions underscores their true intentions to thrust this country into socialism and unredeemable debt which will cover our waters and darken our land.

They tell us, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger?  Will it be the next week, or the next year?  Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a guard shall be stationed in every house?  Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction?  Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope and change, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

They have forced laws to kill millions of unborn Americans and ushered in millions of illegal aliens who use our medical and social services at extremely high cost to our citizens.  They disregard out Constitution.  Our president now consorts with our enemies and apologizes for our history.  Yet, we are the most loving and giving nation of all those on earth. The current leadership of this nation refuses to listen to, “We The People”!

We are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.  The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.

Besides, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up fellow Americans to fight our battles with us. The battle is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.  Besides, we have no choice now for honest leadership of our government, even if we we’re base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission to socialism and slavery!  Our chains are forged!  Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston (where the Tea Party began)!  The battle for freedom is inevitable–and let it come!  I repeat it, let it come.

It is in vain to extenuate the matter.  We may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace.  The battle is actually begun!  The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the sounds of chants to give us our liberty and not government control.  Our brethren have already gone to the mall in Washington D.C. at almost 2-million strong!

Why stand we here idle?  What is it that we wish?  What would they have?  Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of socialism and un-repayable national debt which will bring us to slavery?  Forbid it, Almighty God!  I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

This is paraphrased from Patrick Henry’s famous speech to fit our present circumstance.  But today, God is not calling us to arms.  God is calling us to prayer, national repentance and peaceful action, … but indeed ACTION!

In the book of ACTS the word “church” comes amid threats, both internal and external. BUT God’s Church prevails to this day.  Ladies and gentlemen, the word for the true Church mentioned in the Bible is Ecclesia which means “The Called Out Ones”.  The true church is not contained in walls with stained glass windows but it is in our hearts.

The current evil leadership of this nation cannot prevail against our God. Do not let the Bible depart from your heart or mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.  God says, “Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. AMEN!

The Gathering Storm… A Must Read!!!

When the storm finally hits (and it will), those of you who supported the Obama administration will be affected as well.
It won’t just be us gun owners or Flat Taxers, or Pro-Lifers that get hit. You’ll be right there next to us.

You see, you all thought the Conservatives were nut cases. You know, all of us who believe in God, small government, the Second Amendment, etc.
And you thought you could just go back to sleep after the election was over. In your world, America will continue as before.
You’ll still have the same rights, the same nice house, the same big screen television “ its all good.
After all, your high school football team won and the other team lost “go team!” Even if you have bothered to look up from the daily grind since Nov 4th, you dismissed everything that has occurred as politics as usual the same old stuff.

In the end, it’ll all be OK won’t it?

Not this time. There are a growing number of citizens in the US that are ready to fight to shut down the governments grab of personal freedom, its blatant abuse of the constitution, and its attempt to replace the American way of life with socialism. You have to listen carefully to hear them, but they are there. I won’t start that fight, but when it goes down, I will join it.

As for you, why you will be shocked because you did not see it coming? And eventually you will be saddened when you see that we have truly lost the way of life with which you grew up. You will be saddened that your children and grandchildren live in a socialist, government-controlled gulag where their every movement from cradle to grave is tracked by the government. But most of all, you wll be saddened by the death of friends and relatives who are brave enough to fight and die for something they believe in.

You know, McCain wasn’t much of a candidate. I’ll give you that. He was the lesser of two evils for most of us. I don’t blame you for not voting for him since, at the time, you didn’t know what we all know now. But at least John McCain was an American. He was a supporter of the American way of life, and he understood that you can’t negotiate with terrorists. He understood and appreciated the sacrifice made by my father and other members of the Greatest Generation.

Mark my words friends. All across America groups are forming. They are forming out of anger and out of desperation at the thought of losing America. They are not militia groups, terrorists as the Department of Homeland security would have you believe. They are Americans, loyal to the Constitution. They are mothers and fathers and grandparents. They belong to groups like the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, the Peaceful Resistance, the Constitution Party, the Young Conservatives, the 9/12 Project, and Grassfire. Right now they are fragmented, each focused on their own cause. But sometime in the next two years, our government is going to do something really stupid and these groups will come together.

Watch for it, wait for it get ready. It will happen.

When that event happens, whatever it is, our great country is going to plunge into chaos for a while. I pray to God that we make it through that time and emerge a stronger, smarter country.

Kay Baily Hutchison Update

On August 4th Steve Baysinger and Dagne Florine met with Jesse Hereford, San Antonio Regional Director and State Outreach Director for Kay Bailey Hutchison. Here are the notes from their meeting.

Steve Baysinger and I met with Jesse Hereford, San Antonio Regional Director and State Outreach Director for Kay Bailey Hutchison on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. We spent approximately 30 minutes with him.

The purpose of the meeting was to follow up on our previous meeting about the Petitions and to address several new issues.

Regarding the petitions, Hutchison has signed S.B. 604 to audit the Federal Reserve. She currently intends to vote no on Cap and Trade legislation and no on Socialized Medicine. Jesse said that she “is basically in line with us on the rest of the issues”. We did not go into the other issues, as legislation is not pending. The Senator has not returned a written response to our Petitions because she has not yet received them. Due to increased security since the anthrax attacks, it takes 8 weeks for actual documents to get to a legislator. Jesse said he did write a summary of our previous visit and the Petitions and had sent those to her.

We discussed the insanity of “Cash for Clunkers” and asked Jesse to state clearly to Hutchison that the program needs to stop, as it only encourages more debt and is more Socialism.

We discussed the state of the economy and provided several papers showing that the economy is not in great shape and is getting worse. Dagne emphasized that “green shoots” are another disconnect between Washington and the people. We are tired of lies out of Washington.

Jesse said that at this time, the Senator does not have plans to hold a “meet-and-greet” in the San Antonio area during August recess. Both Dagne and Steve stated in no uncertain terms that that would be a huge mistake, that the voters need to have an opportunity to talk to her (especially about healthcare) and to hear what she has to say. We said that the voters are both angry and afraid. We both stated that the legislators that do not go out to meet the people are perceived as cowards and that will make the voters even more angry. It seems that Texas legislators are attending “sanitized”, costly luncheons rather than going out to deal with the wrath of the voters. Jesse is going to pass on our stern comments/recommendation to the Senator.

Lastly, we received important information about upcoming luncheons that will be attended by Henry Cuellar, Ciro Rodriguez and Charlie Gonzalez.

It was a VERY VALUABLE meeting.
