MoveOn.org is at it again. They are urging their members to call their senators and asking them to support Obamacare. WE need to counter this and call our senators and let OUR opinions be known as well. They track the calls they get so do not let up. Both of our senators oppose the health care bill but they still need to hear from us.

This is from an email that Moveon is sending out to their members. (the highlighting is mine)

Have you read the stories this week declaring the public health insurance option dead? Well, it’s not.

The public option has the support of 83% of the American people,1 (Take a look at this carefully. It’s from JUNE 15th!!! Only 43% now support it Click here for poll) and enough progressives in the House to block any bill without it.2,3 And contrary to what you may have read, the White House has said repeatedly their position hasn’t changed.4,5

But there is real danger in the Senate, where conservatives have stepped up efforts to kill the public option.

Can you call Senators Kay Hutchison and John Cornyn right away? Tell them that you, along with the majority of Americans, strongly support a public health insurance option—it’s the heart of real reform.

Here’s where to call:

Senator Kay Hutchison

Hundreds of protestors rallied on the steps of the Capitol Sunday, most demonstrating against President Barack Obama’s national health care initiative.Protestors chanted, “Kill the bill. Kill the bill.”

Only a handful of people were there to support the president’s plan.

“I’m a veteran. I would like to see everybody have a good health care program. That’d be fine, but find the money to pay for it and find the same one for the Congress and the Senate as they got for me and then I’d be happy,” San Antonio resident Amos Joel Jones said.

The crowd was estimated to be about 250 people

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Hundreds of people lined the stairs of the state capitol on Sunday afternoon to rally against President Obama’s health care plan.

About 200 people attended the afternoon protest. Most of the people said the President’s health care plan is too much government intrusion.

The plan is known as America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. It would give Americans a public health care option and allow those who are satisfied with their coverage to keep it.

“This is letting the people know that Obama and his cronies aren’t going to push this down our throats. We will fight it,” said John Edwards who traveled 200 miles to attend the protest.

Lizzette Sciski asked, “for Obama and Congress to sit there and think that we can just take a piece meal and take a number like it happens in so many countries, how about if they do it?”

In Washington, many lawmakers are taking the summer break as a time to speak to their constituents about health care reform.

President Obama warning Americans, however, that some are spewing misleading information and outlandish claims to defeat what

So did anyone actually expect Obama to keep his pledge of no taxes on the middle class? Especially since he has already raised taxes on items like cigarettes and don’t forget the hidden tax for all the money GM and the banks have received. Well now he’s saying that he will “possibly” have to raise taxes on the middle-class…imagine that?

From Fox News: President Obama may have to break his campaign pledge and raise taxes on middle-class Americans to pay for public health care and the growing deficit, an eventuality that administration officials touched lightly on Sunday as they promoted an economy emerging from recession.

With an expected deficit next year of $1.8 trillion, and spending still being planned for a $1 trillion, 10-year health care reform, officials say something will have to be done to prevent further erosion of the economy.

“We will not get this economy back on track, recovery will be not strong and sustained, unless we … can convince the American people that we’re going to have the will to bring these deficits down once recovery is firmly established,” Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Asked point blank whether it was right to suggest it is a matter of when, not if, taxes will be raised, Geithner responded, “It is absolutely right.”
