From the New York Post:  New York Sen. Chuck Schumer jumped smack into the middle of the war over health care yesterday, warning that congressional leaders may resort to a rarely used maneuver to ram the legislation through. Schumer said Democrats might use an arcane legislative procedure to get a bill through with just 51 votes to smash a potential GOP filibuster. That would also mean the bill could be passed without support from Democrats who have reservations

Call Sen. Schumer’s office TODAY and tell him we will NOT put up with that.   That is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and goes against the senate rules.

In Austin, Congressman Doggett got an earful from a group of Texans who are fed up with the government trying to take over health care and ruin it. He complained that people not from his district were there (guess we don’t have 1st amendment rights). Congressman Doggett also accused the protesters of being part of an organized effort by the Republican and Libertarian parties. I guess only the Democrats can have a real grassroots movement according to the congressman’s “logic”.
