“The Boiling Point” Radio Show Reports that Texas Calls for Article V Convention
The San Antonio Tea Party Radio Show “The Boiling Point” on The Patriot 92.5 FM on Saturday morning, January 29, 2011, at 9:00 AM reported that Senator Jeff Wentworth has filed a resolution in Austin calling for a Balanced Federal Budget, Congressional term limits, the line-item veto, a limit on Federal debt, and the repeal of Federal law by two-thirds of the several states. This bill is known as SJR 15. If 34 states call for an Article V convention, we could see that happen by the end of 2011.

San Antonio Tea Party, Inc. Memorandum

From: Ken Bennight, President, San Antonio Tea Party
For: The Record
Subject: Statement of Core Principles
Recently the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) passed a resolution declaring that the nature of the Tea Party is racist. This statement could not be further from the truth.
Although the NAACP has long been a vital part of the civil rights movement in this nation, and overall, a force for good, this public statement is in error and is very disappointing in light of the history of the NAACP. The leaders of the San Antonio Tea Party admire the NAACP’s dedication to the principle of equal justice which is one of our core principles.
The Tea Party as a whole is a grass roots organization which is deeply concerned that country has drifted away from the original philosophies that have made this nation great. The philosophies that the Tea Party holds as fundamental are the philosophies that are embodied in the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance. Specifically, the Tea Party believes the words of the Declaration of Independence “that all men are created equal.” We believe the words of the Pledge of Allegiance that we live in a country that promotes “liberty and justice for all.”
The supporters of the Tea Party are from all walks of life, all zip codes and all tax brackets, and exclude no one from any of our public meetings or events. It is the hope of the Tea Party that the NAACP, and any other civic group who wishes to attend, will come to our meetings and meet the good people who are so dedicated to the founding principles that made this nation great.
